Will you do something for me? Please sing “Happy Birthday” on Fruary 12 to Abraham Lincoln, and on February 22 to George Washington. I feel for them. They don’t get to hear people sing to each of them, because their birthdays are put into one day that is now a time for a holiday and not their birthdays. No cakes with a name on each one, no candles, no singing, no presents. That makes me feel very sad. If I tried to celebrate by barking on February 12th and then on February 22nd, everyone would look around to see why I am making so much noise, and they would probably tell me to be quiet. But you can can do what I can'’t do. You can say and sing, “Happy Birthday, Mr. Lincoln!” and “Happy Birthday, Mr. Washington!” You could even have a party for each one, and maybe cakes? If you do, please cut a piece for me. I may not be able to sing “Happy Birthday,” but I can eat Birthday cake. Signed with my own paw, |
