A repeated REMINDER

Essay contest in honor of the 200th Anniversary of Global Missions in the United Church of Christ. The essay is wrapped around the question, "What will Global Ministries look like in the future." The contest is broken into two age groups, 13-18 year olds and 18 and over. The prize for the youth is a week at Mensch Mill summer camp in the summer of 2013. The prize for the adults is an opportunity to take a trip to Haiti to shadow our missionary, Jeanette O. Salley, for a week in 2013.

February 5: ANNUAL MISSION LUNCH

The Annual Mission Lunch will take place in the Hendricks Room on February 5th at 1200. Noon Everyone is invited. come and hear Ron Hughes tell about the experiences of the Lancaster Seminary Cross-cultural trip to India.

February 7th: QUIET TIME AT MENSCH MILL

February 12: URSINUS COLLEGE PRESIDENT DELIVERS THE SERMON

Ursinus Colleges new president, Bobby Fong, will share his faith story at the 10:45 AM Church Service. It is a fitting time the traditional Sunday when the colleges founding on February. 10, 1869 was celebrated. Please invite former and present faculty and staff alumni, students, and neighbors.

 

February 15: SERVICE AND PROJECT GROUP MEETING/h3>

The Service and Project Group meets the third Wednesday of each month from 10:00 AM to 12 Noon in the yellow rooms across from the church office.

The men's monthly breakfast is scheuled for February 23. Come to the Collegeville Diner at 8:30 AM for breakfast and conversation.

ACTION ALERT: STOP THE ASSET TEST FOR FOOD STAMPS!

As you may have heard, Gov. Tom Corbett plans to bar Pennsylvania families with modest savings from getting SNAP (food stamps) starting May 1.

Families with as little as $2,000 in savings ($3,250 for seniors and people with disabilities) would no longer qualify for benefits. Tens of thousands of Pennsylvanians would be cut from the program in this tough economy.

You can do something about it. Call 800-515-8134* today. Tell Governor Corbett:

• I urge you to stop the asset test for food stamps. This plan would hurt seniors and Pennsylvania's economy.
